Officiers,

BOSCALS de REALS de MORNAC had been Captain of the second Squadron of the 10th Hussars for at leat two years. This was an elite regiment which had been engaged in many of the major battles of the war. He was a member of a family of French nobility many of whom served in the military. He was related by marriage to Capitaine Georges Paul Marie Joseph DESMIERS DE CHENON who died in action in 1915 who also appears with these records. Hence his inclusion with those listed in CHENON although he is interred at the Cemetery at Montreuil, . The above is a brief account of a lightning cavalry actions by his squadron on Germans making a strategic withdrawal allowed a significant advance of 40 Kilometres by the 35th Division of Infantry. It praises their admirable zeal despite innumerable difficulties which made their missions extremely tricky. If their losses were a delicate issue they we compensated by the successes. He survived the war only to die of the 'Spanish' inflenza epidemic
